Beautiful day in the Garden !!

This past Sunday's Show Art in the Garden was truly a wonderful day!  With stunning weather with sunny skies and not too hot temps lots of folks came and spent the day shopping and visiting with the artisans.

Thank you again to  Glennda Neff for putting together such a perfect event and to Marjorie  & Chuck McGlamery for allowing us to use their spectacular yard for our show.

Can't wait for the Fall show!

Tohono Chul Show a WILD SUCCESS !!!

The show and sale this past weekend at the beautiful Tohono Chul Park in Northwest Tucson was a Wildly Wonderful Success for all involved.  What a perfect setting for a clay art show.

Friday’s brisk morning temperature did not dampen the enthusiasm of the artists or shoppers.  We had a steady flow of shoppers from 9a until late afternoon.    Saturday was equally as busy but with sunny skies and warmer temps.

Our SACA artisans total for the two-day show set a new record and we donated $3800.00 to Tohono Chul.

We are looking forward to working with Linda Wolfe at Tohono Chul and her wonderful staff again next year.

These are a few photos of my work that I had at the show.

Wild Wheeling with Joni Pevarnik

I recently attended a really great wheel throwing workshop with one of our wonderful local artists, Joni Pevarnik.  The one-day workshop was hosted by my friend Jada Ahern at Pima County's Northwest Art Center.

The very full day included demonstrations by Joni of throwing 25 to 50 pounds of clay and making it in to wonderfully amazing tall vases, BIG bowls along with tea pots and tiny vases.  In between Joni's demos we were encouraged to try our hands at building multi-level/multi-piece pots of our own.

Here are two of the "tall" peices that I threw.  Each vase stands 11" and has been gas reduction fired to 2350 degrees F.

I'm very excited to try more tall pieces soon!
